With investment experience since 1998, David Pursell is the Founder and CEO of Core Alternative Capital. Prior to forming Core Alternative, he launched the CCOR fund and managed the CAC strategies within a $1 billion¹ asset manager. He has previous experience as CIO of a $1.5 billion² registered investment advisor, and was Senior Portfolio Manager for a $7 billion³ boutique asset manager where he was in charge of two liquid alternative 40-Act Funds, and managed strategies for several hedge fund of funds. He has extensive experience with derivatives, specifically in the areas of risk and delta management. His background also includes roles at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. David received his M.B.A. from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Danny Mack, Chief Operating Officer and Portfolio Manager, launched Core Alternative Capital in 2019. Danny manages the Core Alternative investment strategies and operations. He has held leadership roles on investment and portfolio management teams managing over $10 billion⁴ in alternative strategies during his career. Prior to Core Alternative, Danny worked with David Pursell managing the CAC strategies within a $1 billion¹ asset manager. He was previously the lead portfolio manager for a $1.5 billion⁵ RIA where the investment process focused heavily on hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, real assets, structured products, tactical trading and volatility management. He also previously worked alongside David Pursell at a boutique asset management firm, where Danny was a portfolio manager and senior analyst and helped that firm grow from $700 million to nearly $7 billion³ during his six year tenure. He graduated from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia where he studied Finance and Economics and has served on the Young Alumni Board.

As CCO, Jack is responsible for all aspects of the firm's compliance program. Jack has been in the investment industry since 1998, focusing on compliance since 2002. Prior to joining the Core Alternative, he spent eight years as CCO of a multi-billion dollar AUM asset manager that focused on institutional fixed income and real estate, as well as third party managed account programs. Jack has also worked as a consultant to SEC-registered advisers, helping them through the initial registration process, drafting policies and procedures, and advising on ongoing compliance matters. He has also held roles at E*TRADE and H&R Block Financial Advisors (since acquired by Ameriprise Financial). Jack completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester, where he was captain of the swim team.

Peter is a Portfolio Manager at Core Alternative Capital. His responsibilities are focused on the macroeconomic and equity market strategies for the firm. Peter completed his doctoral studies in finance at Georgia Tech with a research agenda spanning various areas of fixed income and equity markets. Previously, he served in an asset management role with PIMCO where he worked with multi-billion dollar corporate clients to design custom investment solutions and asset allocation strategies, and held prior roles in capital markets with Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He received his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce concentrating in finance/accounting and he maintains the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
